    Palermo’s Chilled Direct Store Delivery (DSD) is responsible for selling and distributing frozen pizza and other various branded frozen items to retailers in the Midwest. The Associate Manager manages and leads the operations teams for Illinois, Wisconsin Iowa and Kansas City.

    The primary objective is to assure product supply meets the requirements of the Sales Team, with responsibility for safe and productive processes to achieve this.

    • Manage 44 DSD Route Sales Representatives. 
    • Responsible for safety, food safety, demand planning and forecasting, partnership with sales, development of the team, oversight of maintenance of the facility and equipment, leading the cost plan, regulatory inspections such as DOT and AIB, and other aspects of the operation as required.


    • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, operations management, or similar field) 
    • 5+ Years Warehousing and logistics experience
    • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project.

    •      Strong influence management and communication skills, ability to gain organizational buy-in
    •      Leadership of hourly employees and management personnel

    •      Excellent communication skills (written and oral, including fluent in Business Writing Etiquette and PowerPoint)
    •      Strong process improvement skills

    •      Microsoft NAV and/or demand planning experience preferred
    •      Able to synthesize information in an easy-to-understand and action format
    •      Strong working knowledge of routing and logistics or similar background with ability to learn
    •      Strong understanding of the Palermo’s Company and Retail Service business
    •      High-energy, self-directed
